This is a strip completed for an anthology put together by myself and my good friend and frequent collaborator Fraser Geesin. The title of the comic was Escape From January, and was an attempt by us to turn the routinely miserable malaise of the beginning of the year into something productive. The basic pitch was that each contributor would produce a story called escape from January. 4-8 pages, black and white. Beyond that there were no restrictions. It turned out pretty well, and had some nice work from all involved, including the mega-talented Nelson Evergreen.
Although I produced my own strip last minute, it turned out nicely. It’s essentially a love letter to Chuck Jones’ Duck Amuck, my favourite ever cartoon. Enjoy.
